Babyoo Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 14, 2026
Babyoo is a baby care log for parents and caregivers, developed and published by Zhang Zhixing ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to the information you enter in the app.
The short version
- Your records stay on your device. Babyoo stores everything only on the iPhone you use it on.
- Nothing is uploaded. Babyoo does not send your records to any server and does not sync them through iCloud.
- We cannot see your data. We have no accounts, no servers and no database.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. We do not sell or share any data.
- Some details can appear on your Lock Screen through widgets, timers and reminders. You can hide your baby's name and details with one switch.
- You are in control. Delete any record at any time, or erase everything with Delete All Data or by deleting the app.
1. Information you enter
You may record information about your baby and their care, for example:
- the baby's name, date of birth and sex, and an optional photo;
- breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, solid foods, diapers, sleep, wake-ups, tummy time, baths and moods;
- symptoms, temperature, medication, vaccines, doctor visits, height, weight and head circumference;
- milestones and badges, notes, photo diary entries and custom events;
- your breast milk stash, vaccine checklist and daily rhythm settings;
- your preferences, such as units (ml or oz, °C or °F) and reminder settings.
All of this is saved only on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.
2. Where it is stored: your device, shared only with Babyoo's own widgets
- Babyoo keeps its data in the app's storage on your iPhone, in an App Group container. An App Group lets an app share files with its own extensions. Babyoo's container is shared only between the Babyoo app and Babyoo's own widget extension, so widgets, Lock Screen timers and Control Center controls can show your latest records. No other app can read it.
- Babyoo does not ask you to sign up or log in, does not connect to any server of ours, and we do not run one.
- Babyoo 1.0 does not sync your records through iCloud or any other cloud service.
- Your iPhone's own backups (iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer), if you have turned them on, may include the app's data, as with any other app. Those backups are created and managed by Apple and by you, and we cannot access them.
If a future version adds iCloud sync or family sharing, we will update this policy before that version is released and explain exactly what is synced and where.
3. Photos
When you add a baby photo or diary photos, you choose them with the iOS photo picker. Babyoo only receives the photos you pick, not your photo library, and does not ask for photo library access. Selected photos are compressed and saved in Babyoo's storage on your device. Diary photos are deleted when you delete the diary entry, the baby, or all data.
4. Lock Screen, widgets, Dynamic Island and Control Center
These features show information without unlocking your iPhone, so anyone who can see your screen may see it:
- Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets can show your baby's name, age, the time of the last feeding or diaper change, and today's counts of feeds, diapers and sleep.
- Live Activities (on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island) show a running breastfeeding, pumping, sleep or tummy time timer, including the baby's name, the side and how long it has been running.
- Control Center controls start or stop a timer or log a diaper.
You can turn on Settings → Lock Screen & Dynamic Island → Hide Baby’s Name and Details on Lock Screen. When it is on, Live Activities show "Baby" instead of the name, and Lock Screen widgets show only timers and durations. You can also remove widgets at any time, and turn off Live Activities for Babyoo in the iOS Settings app. All of this runs on your device; Babyoo does not use push servers to update widgets or Live Activities.
5. Reminders (notifications)
If you turn on a reminder, for example "3 hours since the last feed", iOS asks for permission to send notifications. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device; no server is involved. A notification may include your baby's name and the time since the last record, and may appear on your Lock Screen depending on your iOS notification settings (you can choose to hide previews there). You can turn reminders off in Babyoo or turn off notifications for Babyoo in iOS Settings at any time.
6. Siri and Shortcuts
You can use Siri or the Shortcuts app to log a diaper, start or stop a timer, or ask when your baby last ate. These actions run on your device using your Babyoo data. Siri may speak your baby's name and times in its answer. When you use Siri, Apple processes your voice request under Apple's own privacy policy; Babyoo only receives the action you asked for.
7. Care content and Prepare Questions
- Guides, stage information and care tips are built into the app. Reading them does not send anything anywhere.
- Prepare Questions puts your baby's age and some recent records (for example feeds, diapers, sleep, temperature, symptoms or medicines) into a text note on your device, to help you talk to a doctor. Babyoo does not send this text anywhere and does not call any AI or online service. Before you copy or share it for the first time, Babyoo asks for your consent. If you paste or share the text into another app, such as an email, a messaging app or an AI chatbot, that app's or service's privacy policy applies to it.
8. Export
You can export your records as a CSV file through the iOS share sheet. The file goes only where you choose to save or send it. Once exported, that copy is under your control.
9. What we do not do
- No advertising and no ad SDKs.
- No analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs, and no data brokers.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites, and no advertising identifier.
- No selling or sharing of personal information.
- We do not use Apple Health (HealthKit). Health-related records in the app are care notes that you type in.
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics. These are collected and processed by Apple, do not contain your records, and we use them only to fix problems.
10. Contacting us
If you email us at babyoo@oocore.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write, including any screenshots or files you attach. We use it only to answer you, and we delete it on request or when it is no longer needed. Please do not send us your baby's health information unless it is needed to solve the problem.
11. Children
Babyoo is designed for parents and adult caregivers. It is not directed to children and is not in the App Store Kids category. Information about a child is entered by the parent or caregiver, stays on their device, and is not collected by us.
12. Not medical advice
Babyoo is a record-keeping tool. Its guides and care tips are general information based on public health sources, with signs for when to seek care; they are not a diagnosis and do not replace your pediatrician or another qualified health professional. Growth charts and percentiles are for reference only. If you are worried about your child, contact a doctor or emergency services.
13. Deleting your data
Your records stay on your device until you delete them. You can:
- Delete a single record from the timeline or the record's detail page. Its diary photos are deleted too.
- Delete a baby in Me. This deletes that baby's records, photos and related care data.
- Delete all data in Settings → Delete All Data. This permanently erases all babies, records, photos, care data and exported files kept by Babyoo on this device, ends running Live Activities and clears widgets. Pending reminders are cancelled.
- Delete the app. Deleting Babyoo removes all of its data from your device.
Because your data never reaches us, we cannot recover deleted records, and we cannot delete anything on your behalf; the steps above are the way to do it.
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the CCPA/CPRA in California, or the PIPL in China), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal information. Because your records exist only on your device, you can do all of this directly in the app: view and edit records, export them as CSV, or delete them. For anything we hold (support emails), contact us at babyoo@oocore.com and we will respond within 30 days.
15. Security
Babyoo's files are protected by iOS Data Protection: they cannot be read after your iPhone restarts until you unlock it for the first time. After that first unlock, they stay readable while the device is locked, so that widgets, Lock Screen timers and reminders keep working. Please use a device passcode to keep your records private, and use the Lock Screen privacy switch described in section 4 if others can see your screen.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If a future version starts storing data anywhere other than your device, such as iCloud sync, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label first.
